Founded in 2024, the Circle of Rodu is an inclusive fellowship of Slavic Native Faith and Dual-Faith believers, whether they’re of Slavic heritage or not. It is a Slavic Reconstructionist religious tradition for folks committed to resurrecting, reinterpreting, reviving and modifying Polytheistic, animistic, and syncretistic practices that are indigenously Slavic and which can be respectfully adapted by believers throughout the Diaspora and beyond, no matter where in the world they may live.
SLAVA RODU, GLORY TO THE KIN!
The Circle of Rodu is rooted in a worldview that first and foremost rejects speciesism and all hierarchical /”power-over” models of dominance that seek to exploit the earth and her creatures and resources for human greed. Concomitant with the rejection of speciesism is the unwillingness to tolerate any form of bigotry, at in-person events or via online platforms, including but not limited to racism, sexism, homo- and transphobia or any xenophobia or nationalism. Bigots will be swiftly ejected from Circle of Rodu events and online spaces; ours is a commitment to creating truly safe spaces where people from marginalized communities in particular (e.g., immigrants from all lands, the LGBTQ+ community) will be welcomed, seen and heard, and whose experiences will be valued.
The Circle of Rodu promotes the Slavic cultural traits of hospitality, generosity, honesty, respect, consent, intellectual curiosity, and a spirit of service towards All: our human and other-than-human relations alike.
We gather together at this extraordinary time in human history to heed a profound call of ecological stewardship, whose viable, long-term success can truly only come from (re)learning how to restore Right Relationship between ourselves and the Gods and spirits of the Ancient Slavs; ourselves (the living) with our Ancestors (our beloved dead); and with all creatures whose Fates are inextricably woven together with ours in the interdependent webs of relationships that comprise the Totality of Being, Non-Being, and Becoming that IS the Circle of Rodu.
As we say in Serbian, “Dobro nam došli!” / “You are truly welcome among us!”
