If you’re curious to experience what Slavic Native Faith rituals are like, devotionals to the Gods that have anchor points in the seasonal calendar, come to our Kupalo/Summer Solstice ritual combined with the Serbian commemoration of Vidovdan (dedicated to the god Svetovid) on Sunday, June 28!
Meeting at the end of the road before South Beach of the North Point Marina State Recreation Area on Lake Michigan’s shores in lovely Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, the ritual will begin at 4:30 p.m. CDT and last until 7:00.
For people coming in from the south, the Union Pacific North Metra train line has direct service to the Winthrop Harbor Metra station from Ogilvie Station in downtown Chicago. (As it’s a Sunday, note there may be limited Ogilvie-bound train service in the evening. Check Metra schedules.) For drivers, there is ample, free parking everywhere in the Marina complex.
At Kupalo, it is traditional in every Slavic culture to ideally wear all-white clothing and be adorned with flower crowns. The Elemental focus is on the duality of Fire and Water as we celebrate the life-giving powers of the sun as well as the nurturing and spiritually cleansing powers of water. Lake Michigan can’t be beat as a ritual location!
A potluck feast will follow our rite so please bring a dish or beverage to share.
Please RSVP to me, Anna, at annatheserbianwitch@circleofrodu.com by June 24, 2026.
Slava!
